Pitt Community College’s Allocation and Actions – CRRSAA Funds

01/17/2021 Pitt Community College’s representative signed and returned the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA), Public Law 116-260, certification and assurance form for the student portion of funding. Total allocation $8,103,081.00. Student Emergency Aid funds were received in the amount of $2,755,397.00.
Eligibility
A list of curriculum students was generated, DACA/undocumented, special credit, dual enrolled high school students removed. The application consisted of self-certification questions to certify.

Process
PCC began the process of determining eligible students and creating an application. Upon completion of the application process, award amounts were prioritized as follows: Pell grant eligible = $1500 award, FAFSA on file but not Pell grant eligible = $1000 award, No FAFSA on file = $800 award.
- 4,776 students were emailed on 2/1 and 2/6/2021 notifying them of the application.
- 2/10/21 68 additional students who registered between 1/27 and 2/10 were emailed.

Qualitative Data
Student emergency financial aid applications were posted on February 4, 2021. 2,722 applicants applied.
- 2,671 applicants were awarded.
- The total amount awarded = $3,672,000.00.
Awards were posted to 2,649 student accounts on 3/1/2021 and checks were mailed on 3/3/2021 totaling 22 students’ awards posted on 3/24/2021 due to late start enrollment totaling $31,100.
Student Con Ed emergency financial aid applications were posted on April 1, 2021. Emails and text messages were sent to 653 students.

- The total amount awarded was $976,500.00. Initial checks mailed on 4/05/2021.
HEERF CRRSAA– SIP Formula Funds
Pitt Community College was awarded an additional $449,385.00 on 1/16/2021. Funds have been used to purchase additional professional development for instructors, faculty and staff, data storage, and other associated costs related to the Coronavirus.
CARES Act Recipient Agreement section 4c, Pitt Community College has continued to pay all of its employees and contractors during the period of any disruptions or closures to the greatest extent practicable, in compliance with Section 18006 of the CARES Act.
