WINTERVILLE—Three houses built by students enrolled in Pitt Community College Construction and Industrial Technology programs were sold by public auction Nov. 4.

The sale featured a pair of 1,248-square-foot homes that went for $126,000 and $134,000, respectively, and a 1,344-square-foot house that sold for $133,200. Auction proceeds will be used to purchase materials for future home-building projects at PCC, which have provided students hands-on learning opportunities since the summer of 1988.

In addition to the homes for sale, the auction featured three 10-by-12 storage buildings constructed by students taking a PCC continuing education framing course. They sold for $3,400 apiece.
