SOFA Seeking Entries from Community for Exhibition

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Students of Fine Art Club is inviting members of the community to submit artwork to be considered for an exhibition that will take place on campus starting Nov. 23.
The exhibition, which will be displayed in the Craig F. Goess Student Center until Jan. 10, is open to artists working and/or residing in Pitt County. PCC reserves the right to refuse submissions administrators deem racist and/or demeaning to others.
The entry fee is $10 for up to three submissions. A fourth costs another $5. Entry fees are nonrefundable and do not guarantee selection for the exhibition.
Leigh Ann Parrish, lead art instructor at Lenoir Community College, will serve as the exhibition’s juror. A graduate of Western Carolina University’s Master’s in Fine Art program, she has a diverse artistic background, ranging from digital and traditional photography to performance and installation.
Artists are responsible for delivery and retrieval of their works. Submissions must be dropped off in person to PCC’s Kay V. Whichard Building (Room 107B) between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Nov. 14, 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Nov. 15, and 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 18-19. Selection will occur Nov. 21.
A reception to announce the top three winners is scheduled for Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. in the Goess Student Center. Prizes are contingent upon the number of entries received.
