SBC to Showcase Client Success Stories

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Small Business Center has scheduled an event to highlight area businesses that have taken advantage of its many services, which include free seminars, confidential counseling and a business resource collection.
Scheduled for Oct. 25 in the Craig F. Goess Student Center’s Davenport Multipurpose Room, the “Small Business Showcase” will feature more than 20 local businesses sharing information on products and services between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
“The PCC Small Business Center is proud of the many local start-up businesses that have utilized our free resources,” said PCC SBC Director Jim Ensor. “It’s time to show these businesses off.”
Ensor says the showcase will include inspiring business success stories and a local guest speaker. It’s a great event for entrepreneurs, small business owners and anyone wanting to explore great business resources to attend, he said, adding that that PCC’s SBC team will be on hand to answer questions.
A member of the N.C. Small Business Center Network, which maintains SBCs at each of the state’s 58 community colleges, the PCC Small Business Center is committed to job creation and retention in Pitt County by helping prospective and existing small business owners succeed.
Each year, Pitt’s SBC offers more than 125 free seminars on business topics, ranging from financing and management to marketing and accounting/recordkeeping. The center also provides confidential, one-on-one consulting services at no charge to help small business owners develop business and marketing plans, loan packages, market and industry research, strategic planning and financials.
SBC’s business resources are located at the PCC Greenville Center on Memorial Drive. They are free to use, open to the public during normal business hours, and include computers with internet access, business plan examples, how-to books and videos and DVDs.
