PCC to Salute Nation’s Veterans Nov. 11

Beirut Memorial in Jacksonville, N.C.

WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College will honor members of the nation’s military, past and present, with its annual Veterans Salute on Nov. 11.

The program will take place in front of the Vernon E. White Building, starting at 11 a.m. It is free and open to the community.

In addition to PCC President Lawrence Rouse’s message of gratitude to everyone who has answered the nation’s call in times of war and peace, the ceremony will feature a prayer by Pitt’s Ken Peel, who serves as an advisor to the college’s Student Veterans Association. Music will be provided by PCC’s Michael Stephenson.

In the event of rain, the Veterans Salute will be moved to the Davenport Multipurpose Room inside the Craig F. Goess Student Center. Should the event take place indoors, COVID-19 safety protocols, including facial masks and social distancing, will be in effect.
