PCC to Hold Mayne Pharma Scholars Information Session

WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College will hold an information session for students and parents on the new Mayne Pharma Scholars Program on April 30.
The event will take place in the Davenport Multipurpose Room, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is open to all PCC and Pitt County high school students and their parents. Dinner will be provided by Jersey Mike’s.
The Mayne Pharma Scholars Program features a full, two-year scholarship ($8,000 maximum per student) for students seeking an associate degree in biotechnology, which is a laboratory-intensive program that trains students to be lab analysts in the pharmaceutical industry. Current high school seniors and PCC students with an aptitude for science are encouraged to apply. Eight students will be selected for the program each year.
Scholars will have an opportunity for a paid, full-time internship at Mayne-Pharma during the summer between their first and second year of college and a part-time, paid internship during their second year.
