WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College will launch a five-week Applied Construction and Trades Bootcamp this month to teach participants how to manage a jobsite while providing an opportunity for them to earn industry-recognized credentials.

Designed for career changers seeking better wages, individuals interested in combining technology with hands-on work, and motivated workers seeking immediate employment, the bootcamp will take place on PCC’s campus Sept. 28-Oct. 30. Tuition is free, and participants will receive boots, a toolbelt and personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, vest and safety glasses.

Instruction will combine hands-on training in traditional construction skills with technology used on modern job sites, including drones. Students will develop practical skills in several trades while earning OSHA 30-Hour, Forklift Operator, Procore Student and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

The program will begin with essential certifications and digital blueprint reading before progressing through carpentry and framing, electrical, HVAC and plumbing. The final week will focus on technology applications in construction, including drone site surveys and AI reporting, as well as forklift operation and a Hiring Day with PCC partners.

The application deadline is Sept. 24. Registration and additional information are available by calling 252-493-7388.
