PCC Foundation Holds Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Foundation held a luncheon Wednesday to thank individuals for contributing their time and energy toward helping the organization raise money within the past year.
The program celebrated 369 volunteers who contributed a combined 1,567 hours at three fundraisers to help the PCC Foundation raise $210,285 for student scholarships and a variety of educational activities at PCC.
Starting with the President’s Scholarship Gala in May, 43 volunteers contributed 215 hours to help raise $36,302.53. Several months later, 278 volunteers helped raise $133,638.23 through a whopping 1,112 hours at the Down East Holiday Show. And just last month, 48 volunteers gave a combined 240 hours to raise $40,344.24 through the 2019 Accelerating the Future fundraiser.
During the luncheon, the PCC Foundation announced the creation of an annual award to recognize the talents and dedication of those who serve as volunteers during its fundraising events. The first award will be presented in 2020.
