WINTERVILLE—With the start of the 2024-25 academic year at Pitt Community College fast approaching, the PCC Foundation recently announced it would begin accepting student applications for need-based scholarships on July 1.

According to PCC Scholarships Coordinator Kim Simpkins, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate unmet financial need in order to apply for need-based scholarships. They must have also submitted a PCC admissions application prior to filling out a PCC Foundation general scholarship application available on the organization’s website.

Though the application period is scheduled to run through July 31, Simpkins says funding for need-based scholarships is limited and will be available until it has been exhausted.

For more information, students may contact Simpkins at (252) 493-7902 or kgsimpkins818@my.pittcc.edu.
