JCPenney ‘Suit-Up’ Event, PT Job Fair Ahead this Month

PCC students check out at the cash register during the exclusive JCPenney shopping event Oct. 14.

GREENVILLE—The Pitt Community College Career Services Department is partnering with JCPenney for the benefit of students preparing to enter the workforce after graduation.

On Sept. 22, JCPenney will host a ‘suit-up event’ at its Greenville Mall location after normal business hours. The private shopping event will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering PCC students and their supporters (family members and PCC faculty/staff) as much as 60 percent off career dress apparel, including shoes and accessories.

“The purpose of the event is to make students more aware of what career dress apparel is and to provide them with a cost-effective opportunity to purchase it,” says PCC Career Services Coordinator Arwen Parris.

Later in the week, Parris says the college will host a “Part-Time Job Fair.” The event, she says, will take place in the Craig F. Goess Student Center on Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Parris says the fair will give students a chance to learn more about part-time and seasonal/holiday jobs and internships. Though there is no dress code and resumes are not required, students must present their PCC IDs for entry to the fair.
