First-Time PCC Freshmen Must Attend Orientation Session

WINTERVILLE—Students planning to attend Pitt Community College this fall are being urged to complete an admission application and sign up for New Student Orientation as soon as possible.
PCC Recruitment and Orientation Specialist John Carrere says orientation is a mandatory part of the admissions process that helps students get off to the right start. He said several orientation sessions offered in June were near capacity and programs in July have already begun to fill and close.
Orientation, Carrere says, is the best opportunity for students to register for fall classes and features information on financial aid, special admission requirements for select programs, and tips for achieving academic success while adapting to college life.
Carrere said students must sign up for orientation by speaking with their assigned admission counselor by calling (252) 493-7245 or visiting the “New Student Orientation” page on PCC’s official website. He noted that online registration requires a myPittCC account and login information provided in PCC acceptance letters.
