First-Time Freshmen Must Attend New Student Orientation

WINTERVILLE—Students planning to attend Pitt Community College this fall are being urged to complete an admission application and sign up for New Student Orientation as soon as possible.

PCC Recruitment and Orientation Specialist John Carrere says orientation helps students get off to the right start, which is why Pitt administrators made it mandatory for all first-time college students in 2016. The program, he says, is a chance to register for fall classes and features information on financial aid, special admission requirements for select programs, and tips for achieving academic success while adapting to college life.

Carrere said students must sign up for orientation by visiting the “Student Orientation” page on PCC’s official website. He noted that several sessions in July have already begun to fill and added that online registration requires a myPittCC account and login information provided in PCC acceptance letters.
