WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Financial Aid Office will hold an online event Monday to assist students with filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2021-22 academic year.

The program, which is part of the department’s “FAFSA Mondays” series, will take place via Zoom, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. PCC staff will be available throughout the event to help students navigate the FAFSA form and answer questions.

Prior to attending a “FAFSA Mondays” event, students must register for a session at pittcc.edu/tuition-financial-aid/financial-aid/. They must also create a Federal Student Aid ID at www.FSAID.ed.gov. The ID gives them access to Federal Student Aid’s online systems and can serve as a legal signature.

Students who participate in a “FAFSA Mondays” program must have their 2019 tax return on hand to complete a FAFSA. Students who are dependents must have the same information for their parents as well.

PCC Financial Aid Director Lee Bray says it’s important for students to submit a FAFSA as soon as possible – whether they plan to attend PCC or another school – to reduce the chances of financial aid processing delays. She said future “FAFSA Mondays” segments at Pitt would take place the first Monday in February, March, April and May.

For more information, students can visit the financial aid page on PCC’s website, email the PCC Financial Aid Office at pccfa@email.pittcc.edu, or call (252) 493-7245.
