‘FAFSA Day’ Scheduled for Oct. 27

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Financial Aid Office has scheduled “FAFSA Day” for Oct. 27 to answer financial aid questions and help current and incoming students file Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Craig F. Goess Student Center (Room 178). Throughout the program, PCC counselors will provide assistance to students seeking federal financial aid for the 2019-20 academic year.
In order to complete FAFSAs, students must know their social security number (or Alien Registration Number for non-U.S. citizens) and bring their 2017 federal income tax return, W-2 and other records of untaxed income with them. If applicable, students must also bring bank statements and records of investments. Dependent students are asked to bring most of the same information for their parents as well.
Before arriving to “FAFSA Day,” students are asked to create a Federal Student Aid ID at www.FSAID.ed.gov. The ID gives students access to Federal Student Aid’s online systems and can serve as a legal signature.
