Hello PCC Family!
You have been very generous in donating to the PCC Food Pantry over the years. Recently, the college helped students in need of financial assistance through funding from the CARES Act. Sixty-eight percent of the students who applied listed experiencing food insecurity on their application. We would like to help these students, but we need your help! Our food pantry has a very limited supply of items and we are only able to serve a few more students.
We need your help to meet a very real need of our students—hunger. You can make a difference by shopping for non-perishable food items and then dropping them off at PCC on June 16, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. You can drop off items any time that day by entering the Goess Student Center parking lot and pulling up to the Student Lounge entrance. A Student Support Services staff member will come out to your car and collect your donated items.
The items we are in greatest need of include the following: chicken, Vienna sausage, tuna, pork and beans, pasta and pasta sauce, macaroni and cheese, rice, peanut butter, jelly, canned soups, canned fruits, microwaveable meals, and breakfast items, such as cereal, pancake mix, and maple syrup.
If you would like to donate food items, but are not able to come to campus June 16, please contact us (Olivia Sutton at osutton@email.pittcc.edu or Mecca Waller at mwaller@email.pittcc.edu with the college’s Counseling Services Department) and we can arrange another time to meet you on campus.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support! Go Bulldogs!
