WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College will hold an admission and registration event Dec. 1 specifically designed for adult learners wanting to take classes during the spring semester that begins Jan. 7.

According to PCC Recruitment and Orientation Specialist John Carrere, Adult One-Stop Day will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 120 of the Craig F. Goess Student Center. The program, he said, offers adult learners a chance to complete multiple admission requirements – including placement testing, applying for financial aid, and New Student Orientation – in a single day.

“It’s aptly named ‘Adult One-Stop Day,’ because they can get it all done in one stop at the college, from admission application to registration for classes,” Carrere said. “We understand that adult learners have really hectic schedules, especially if they are working and balancing family life as well.”

Carrere noted that PCC is offering a number of hybrid courses this spring that make it easier for adult learners to balance their work schedules with completing college coursework. He explained that “hybrid” courses combine traditional classroom instruction with online assignments to reduce the number of times students are required to meet on campus.

To make it easier for students to pay for courses, Carrere pointed out that PCC offers payment plans. Instead of paying for tuition and fees up front and all at once, he said students can opt to pay in installments.
