College Reminding Students of Payment Deadline

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Registrar’s Office is reminding students that an important payment deadline for the 2019 Spring Semester is fast-approaching.
According to PCC Registrar Angela Cline, students who signed up for spring classes between Oct. 1 and Nov. 20 have until Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. to pay for tuition and fees, before their schedules are deleted.
Cline says students can pay online by logging into their myPittCC accounts and clicking the “PCC Services” tab. She said they may also pay in person at the Cashier’s Office, which is located inside the Craig F. Goess Student Center.
Another payment option is an installment plan through Nelnet Business Solutions. Students interested in this opportunity can sign up by logging into their myPittCC accounts and looking for “Payment Plans” on their financial information page.
According to PCC Accounts Receivable/Cashier Supervisor Tracey Yarborough, the plan requires a $25-nonrefundable enrollment fee and 25 percent down payment on tuition and fees as soon as students sign up. Students utilizing this payment option by Dec. 8 will then have four additional payments to make on their tuition and fees. After that, those who sign up by Jan. 9 will have three additional payments.
Students who have applied for financial aid must have a finalized award for the 2019 Spring Semester in place by the Dec. 3 payment deadline in order to secure their schedules, Cline said. She added that those who do not must pay out-of-pocket and wait for reimbursement through financial aid, if it is approved.
Cline noted that students have real-time access to financial aid records through their myPittCC accounts. By clicking on “FA Status,” they can view current financial aid information, including details about their awards, whether or not FAFSA forms have been received, if they need to submit additional documentation, and whether they are making satisfactory academic progress to be eligible for continued financial aid assistance.
The 2019 Spring Semester at PCC gets underway Jan. 7.
