College Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Foreign Language Department celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month Oct. 9 with a special on-campus event for students and employees.
The program, which took place in the Craig F. Goess Student Center, featured dancing, informational displays, cultural exhibits and door prizes.
Each year, Americans honor Hispanic heritage from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
