WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College hosted the Eastern Regional College and Career Readiness (CCR) Instructors Conference on March 8.

Held in the G.H. Leslie Building, the professional development workshop gave more than 60 instructors and staff from seven different community colleges a chance to learn about a variety of educational topics, including using Chat GPT for lesson planning and ways of differentiating math lessons.

“PCC Transitional Studies was excited and grateful to serve as a hub for the eastern region,” PCC Director of Transitional Studies Melissa Morlock said. “Our instructors had the opportunity to share resources and strategies, learn and teach one another, and help to improve instruction across the entire region for CCR students.”

Five PCC instructors led discussions during the conference on topics ranging from engagement and goal-setting to using multiple intelligences in the classroom. The event also featured N.C. Community College System Office staff joining representatives from the Rivers East Workforce Development Board to offer informational sessions for CCR instructors, coordinators and directors.
