Student Success Advisors (SSA)
Mission
Student Success Advisors (SSA’s) will consult, enroll, retain, and transition students. SSA’s will educate and empower students through supportive and intrusive advising to foster holistic development and independence.

What does a Student Success Advisor Do?
Student Success Advisors assist new and incoming students with questions related to the enrollment process. After enrollment, Student Success Advisors will serve as the Academic Advisor for 1st year students until they complete two major semesters at Pitt Community College.
Student Success Advisors help new 1st year students by providing:
- Academic planning and course selection for current and upcoming semesters
- Advice and planning during times of academic difficulty
- Referrals to college or community resources
By working with your assigned Student Success Advisor, students will know how, and where, to access accurate information about policies, procedures, and requirements. Students will be encouraged to make decisions that support their goals, abilities, and aspirations.
