Transcripts for Admission & Transfer Credit

Official transcripts are utilized for course placement and will be evaluated at the point of admission. Students who wish to receive transfer credit for courses completed at other institutions prior to admission must submit official transcripts from the institutions granting the credit.

NOTE: Pitt Community College cannot provide copies of transcripts from other schools you have attended. If such transcripts are needed, please contact those schools directly. To request transcripts from other schools, use the Printable Transcript Request Form (schools other than PCC).

Students with a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution are exempt from submitting high school transcripts, except for when applying for financial aid. Transfer students must be in good standing at all previously attended institutions.

Transcripts from Schools Located Outside of the U.S.

All non-US academic records must be translated and evaluated for US equivalency by a company approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (naces.org). This includes high school and college/universities.

NOTE: For translation services visit www.catiweb.org for local organizations.

The Evaluation Company (formerly SpanTran) has created a custom application for Pitt Community College students to help them get the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate. You can access their application here: TEC Application – Pitt Community College.

NOTE: If you have not attended a college or university, you may be required to take the Placement Test.
NOTE: English courses from international colleges will not transfer.
NOTE: Course descriptions are HIGHLY recommended to award transfer credit, and some courses will require Department Chair approval and/or course syllabi to be submitted. Please allow longer processing time.
