Visiting Students (formerly known Special Credit Students)

Visiting Students are defined as the following:

  1. Students who cannot decide which certificate, diploma, or degree to pursue at Pitt Community College and need further career counseling before making a decision. Note: Students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university, but are undecided as to an academic major, should enroll in the Associate of Arts program at Pitt Community College.
  2. Students visiting Pitt Community College only planning to take a few courses (students intending to transfer to a four year institution are not visiting students or special credit).
  3. Students who have already completed a degree and are seeking only a few courses (students seeking a second degree are not visiting students or special credit).
  4. Students taking courses for personal enrichment purposes only and are not seeking a certificate, diploma, or degree.

*NOTE: Financial Aid students cannot be declared as Visiting Students or Special Credit Students; in order to receive aid, they must enroll in a program.
