CASAS Testing

Basic Law Enforcement Enforcement Training (BLET)

Students enrolling in the BLET program are required to score at the 10th-grade level or higher on the CASAS Reading assessment. The Placement Testing Office offers the CASAS Reading test for BLET students. The CASAS assessment is computerized.

• BLET students are required to bring a BLET Testing Permit to their scheduled placement test (students should contact BLET at 252-493-7572 to obtain a permit).

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Students enrolling in the EMT program are required to score at the 11th-grade level or higher on the CASAS Reading and Arithmetic assessments. The Placement Testing Office offers the CASAS Reading and Arithmetic for EMT students. The CASAS assessment is computerized.
