Travis Kinsey, Ed.D, Director, TRIO Programs

Dr. Travis Kinsey serves as the Director of TRIO Programs at PCC. His primary responsibility is to provide leadership to the Student Support Services and the Educational Opportunity Center departments. Dr. Kinsey has an Ed.D and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from East Carolina University. Additionally, he holds a Masters in Adult Education with an Emphasis in Training and Development from Central Michigan University. Prior to transitioning into higher education, he worked in the banking industry for over three years. Furthermore, Mr. Kinsey has taught Organizational Leadership, Strategic Leadership, and Human Resource Management at the collegiate level. He is passionate about helping students make decisions that could change their lives.

Letita Joyner, MEL, MSA, Program Coordinator, TRIO: Student Support Services

Mrs. Joyner has a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Math Education with a concentration in Science from Fayetteville State University and a Master’s Degree in Executive Leadership with a concentration in K-12 School Administration from Grand Canyon University. She holds a North Carolina Professional Educator’s Licensure in Middle Grades Math 6-9, a K – 12 North Carolina Administrator’s Licensure, as well as a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida. Additionally, she is certified in Mental Health First Aid and Quality Matters Rubric, Applying the Rubric, and Peer Review. She is also a certified Enneagram Facilitator. Mrs. Joyner has over 14 years of experience in Education, ranging from Diversity and Inclusion programs, International Student Support Services, Math and Science Instruction, and Secondary Education Administration. She is always ready and willing to serve others.

Rieneke Ausherman, Academic Specialist (English)

Rieneke Ausherman serves as the Tutor Coordinator and English Academic Specialist for TRIO Student Support Services here at PCC. She is also a developmental English instructor. Ms. Ausherman obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from East Carolina University. She also holds a certificate in ‘Teaching English in the Two-Year College.’ Ms. Ausherman has been teaching English at the collegiate level since 2020 and has over five years of experience working with diverse populations.

Abigail Wooten, Academic and Support Specialist

Abigail Wooten serves as the Academic & Support Specialist for TRiO Student Support Services. After obtaining her Associate in Science and Associate in Arts degrees from Nash Community College, she transferred to North Carolina Wesleyan where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Information Systems. She then went to East Carolina University to obtain her Master of Arts in Mathematics, concentrating on Math in the Community College. She has been working with math students with diverse backgrounds since 2016.

Christine Humphrey, Administrative Assistant/Data Specialist

Mrs. Christine Humphrey joined TRIO: Student Support Services staff in 2020 as the Administrative Assistant/Data Specialist. Mrs. Humphrey has received two Associates degrees from Pitt Community College in Business and two Bachelor’s degrees from North Carolina Wesleyan in Business Administration and Organization Administration. She holds a certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida.
