PCC Global: Study Abroad Options

Pitt Community College is committed to help students and faculty become more globally competent through education abroad opportunities that extend the borders of the classroom and create a deeper level of understanding of the subject matter, the world around us, and how the two are interconnected.

We offer a variety of study abroad options including academic-based programs with discipline-related instruction and service-based programs that include participation in a service project in the host country.  All study abroad programs focus on cultural exploration and unique experiences for participants.

Summer 2022 Destinations

Pitt Community College and EF are continuously monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on our 2022 travel destinations. For everyone’s safety, travelers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to departure. Should the state of the pandemic change in the coming year, EF has options for travel adjustments. These options include changing travel dates to the current destinations, modifying destinations, or cancellation. If PCC decides that the best option for the safety of travelers is trip cancellation, all travelers will receive a travel voucher in the amount of all money paid for the original program, less the $95 deposit and any other non-refundable fees. You can read more about this and EF’s other safety and protection offerings at https://www.efcollegestudytours.com/about-us/safety-protection-offerings

Bootcamps in France

Community College
in France

The Community College in France “Bootcamps” bring community college students from across the US to study in France. These two-week programs are designed to provide high quality, culturally immersive study abroad opportunities for students who have been historically underrepresented in study abroad.

Students explore current global issues in sustainability and human rights, gain professional development, and go on site-visits to discover France and its culture. The French embassy covers all but $1000 of the cost of the program, so the student is responsible for just $1,000 plus airfare. View the list of current Bootcamps.

** 2021 Bootcamps have been canceled. 2022 Bootcamps have not yet been scheduled.

For more information about the Community College in France programs, contact Robin Ashley, Study Abroad Coordinator, at rashley@email.pittcc.edu.
