Adult High School (AHS)

AHS Program Overview

Adult High School (AHS) is a program designed in cooperation with our local education agency (Pitt County Schools) to offer adults an opportunity to earn an AHS diploma. Course and graduation requirements are in alignment with the standards established by the State Board of Education, Pitt Community College, and Pitt County Schools.

Graduation Requirements

Students enrolled in the AHS program complete the courses they were unable to complete in high school. However, all students must meet the current graduation requirements as stated by North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Student Pre-requisites

Student pre-requisites for entering Pitt Community College Adult High School program:

Must have already completed 14 credits from high school.
Must bring a sealed official copy of your transcript to orientation or have the official copy emailed to asholtvedt029@my.pittcc.edu.
Must score a minimum of a TABE 3 on both Language and Math assessments (given during enrollment).
Must complete all credits within two years of enrollment date (but can finish sooner).
Must complete one credit every 16 weeks (but can earn more).
Must have your own transportation, computer, and internet access.

Students under the age of 18, must also complete a Minor Release Form and bring Withdrawal paperwork from school.
