English Language Acquisition (ELA)

Welcome English language learners!

What do we do?

We provide adults with limited English language proficiency classes to improve their English reading, writing, and speaking skills.

When are the classes?

We offer classes year-round. There are morning classes (8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) and evening classes (6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.).

How much do classes cost?

Classes are FREE!

How do I get started?

The first step is to contact Sharon Edwards at 252-493-7213 or email her at seedwards473@my.pittcc.edu. 252-493-7344 (Spanish line).

Mrs. Edwards will sign you up for an initial orientation to learn about the program, register, and take a placement assessment. Then, we will sit down and create a class schedule that fits your needs! Orientation takes 3 hours and takes place at the beginning of each month.

Where do I go?

We are located on the Pitt Community College Campus, Leslie Building, Room 113. The Leslie Building is located at 2000 Eddie Smith Street, Pitt Community College.
