Graduation Requirements

Upon recommendation of the faculty and the approval of the College’s Board of Trustees, the appropriate degree, diploma, or certificate will be awarded to students successfully completing the course requirements of the program. All students must:

  • Meet the graduation policies as stated in the Pitt Community College General Catalog.
  • Earn a minimum of a 2.0 GPA in the required curriculum courses.

  • Students must successfully complete all Level II Fieldwork placements within 2 semesters following completion of the didactic portion of the program.
  • Fulfill all financial obligations to Pitt Community College.
  • Refer to PCC Graduation Eligibility/Requirements for details.
  • Apply for graduation by the posted deadline according to the Pitt Community College Registrar’s guidelines.

Post-Graduation

In order to practice as an OTA, graduates must obtain national certification by passing the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam and obtain licensure within the state they practice.

Please note that the NBCOT and state licensure boards may prohibit eligibility for certification or licensure if a prospective person has a felony conviction.
