Mission and Outcomes

The mission of the Health Information Technology Program is to provide students, through instruction and professional practice experiences, a diverse skill set in the management and utilization of hybrid and electronic health records (EHR) consistent with the medical, administrative, coding/reimbursement, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare delivery system.

Graduate Outcomes

RHIT Exam Pass Rate: 74% of the graduates who took the RHIT Exam passed on the first attempt for the reporting period of 10/01/2016 to 09/30/2017.

Job Placement Rate: 59% of HIT graduates from spring 2016 to spring 2017 are employed in the health information field.*

Retention Rate: The HIT Program retained 88% of students during the reporting period of 8/1/2015 – 7/31/2016
