Mission and Outcomes

The mission of the Cardiovascular Sonography Program at Pitt Community College is to educate and empower graduates with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors to be competent and professional entry-level sonographers.

GOAL 01 of the Cardiovascular Sonography Program is to prepare competent entry-level adult cardiac sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

GOAL 02 of the Cardiovascular Sonography Program is to actively recruit qualified students and provide a supportive learning environment for students enrolled in the program.

GOAL 03 of the Cardiovascular Sonography Program is to meet or exceed all Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography as defined by the CAAHEP and JRC-DMS.
