WINTERVILLE—With the 2023-24 scholarship application period set to close April 1, the Pitt Community College Foundation is encouraging prospective fall students, including high school seniors and current Pitt students, to apply as soon as possible.

PCC Scholarships Coordinator Kim Simpkins says students planning to enroll in PCC courses during the 2023 Fall Semester should visit pittccfoundation.com for an online application, list of scholarships, and answers to frequently asked questions. She noted that new students must complete a PCC admissions application before they can apply for scholarships.

“Our returning students have all of the information they need to apply for scholarships,” Simpkins said. “New students, however, can only access our online system after receiving login credentials that PCC sends to new applicants.”

Simpkins says the online system has simplified the scholarship application process. She explained that it allows students to complete a single form to apply for more than 160 scholarship opportunities offered by the PCC Foundation.

Once the application period has ended, Simpkins says a committee will determine award recipients. “We’re expecting to send out award notifications to student email accounts in May and June, so students can plan for fall semester,” she said.
