2019 Spring Semester Registration Resumes

WINTERVILLE—As the current semester draws to a close, Pitt Community College’s Craig F. Goess Student Center is humming with activity once again, as registration for the 2019 Spring Semester is back underway.

PCC Lead Student Success Navigator Gregg Massenburg says registration resumed Dec. 11 and will continue in Room 120 of the Goess Student Center until Dec. 20, when the college closes for the holidays. He noted that students are not required to make an appointment before stopping by to register.

Massenburg says PCC success navigators will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays to assist students with registration. The lone exception will be Dec. 17, when the hours are extended to 7 p.m. to better accommodate students.

PCC Vice President of Student Development Services Johnny Smith says the college is striving to make registration more “student-friendly” and has established a new Registration Process Team to examine current procedures and identify areas for improvement. The group, he said, has representation from departments and divisions across campus.

Smith says the registration team has already established a plan to more effectively communicate payment options and deadlines to students. He says prior to payment deadlines, students will now receive email reminders directing them to take appropriate action regarding schedules and payment of tuition and fees.

“As an institution, we have been working diligently to implement strategies and practices that stabilize and increase student enrollment,” he said. “Students having adequate time to make arrangements to pay for their college tuition is one way we want to ensure ease of access into our classes.”

Smith says that over the holidays, a new process will allow current students with approved Student Education Plans to register and pay for spring classes using the college’s online registration and payment services.

Spring classes at PCC begin Jan. 7.
