Fall '17 Registration Concludes on Aug. 16

WINTERVILLE—Individuals wanting to take courses at Pitt Community College this fall will have one last chance to sign up for them on Wednesday, when the college holds registration for new and returning students.

“It is definitely not too late to get started at PCC this fall,” says PCC Recruitment and Orientation Specialist John Carrere. “Even though some of the more popular classes are filling up fast, we still have space available for all students wishing to join our campus this semester.”

For returning students, registration gets underway at 8 a.m. They have the option of signing up for courses online or in person with their academic advisors.

New students must first attend a New Student Orientation session at either 9 a.m., 12 p.m. or 3 p.m. in order to register. Each session will take place in the Craig F. Goess Student Center’s J. Paul and Diana S. Davenport Multipurpose Room. Success Navigators will be on hand for the sessions to assist students with registration, which closes at 5 p.m. for all students.

“There’s never been a better time to be a PCC student,” Carrere says. “Higher education is a logical choice for everyone pursuing employment, and PCC is a great local option to provide them with the training and skills they’ll need for success in their future careers.”

Students who register Wednesday must pay for their tuition and fees by 5 p.m. that day or their schedules will be deleted. The current tuition rates established by the N.C. General Assembly are $76 per credit hour for in-state students and $268 per credit for those from out-of-state.

Students may still complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the fall semester, but it may take time for the forms to be processed. Students intending to complete FAFSAs should be prepared to pay for their fall courses out-of-pocket Wednesday. Those who do will be reimbursed, if they receive approval for federal student aid.

The fall semester at PCC begins Aug. 17.
