MRC Launches Annual Men's Clothing Drive
WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Men’s Resource Center (MRC) has begun its fifth annual “Best Foot Forward Professional Clothing Drive” and is seeking professional male clothing donations from the community throughout the month.
According to Jasmin Spain, PCC Director of Student Mentoring, Conduct and Academic Progression, items collected through the drive will assist male students at the college in their search for employment. He says MRC is asking members of the community to consider donating clean—dry-cleaned or machine-washed—gently-used professional male clothing students can wear to the PCC Spring Career Fair in April and for interviews with potential employers.
Spain said dress shirts (collared and polos), sweaters, ties, dress shoes, suits and dress pants (khakis and slacks) would be particularly beneficial to students.
Donations can be dropped off in Room 160 of the Craig F. Goess Student Center through March 24. Spain says those making donations will have an opportunity to fill out gift acceptance forms for tax deduction purposes.
