Center for Student Activities Organizes 5K

Event Will Raise Funds for PCC Student Clubs and Organizations

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Center for Student Activities is seeking runners for the 2017 Bulldog Run, a fundraising 5K race and one-mile fun run/walk scheduled to take place on the PCC campus March 26.

The event, which will raise money for student clubs and organizations at the college, will begin at 3 p.m. with the 5K race. The fun run/walk will start shortly thereafter.

PCC Student Activities Coordinator Katelynn Speas noted that the 5K course at Pitt is USATF–certified and that both the 5K and fun run/walk will take place on flat pavement. Run the East will provide chip scoring.

Following the 5K, prizes will be awarded to the overall three male and female runners in each age group.

Runners planning to compete in the 5K may register at www.runtheeast.com/races/. They can also sign up on race day near the Craig M. Goess Construction and Industrial Technology Building between 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

The 5K entry fee is $20, which includes a guaranteed race t-shirt, until March 10. After that, it’s $25, with no t-shirt included. The cost to participate in the fun run/walk is $10.
