Foundation's 2013 Down East Holiday Show Sets New Attendance, Fundraising Records
WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College Foundation officials reported this month that the 2013 Down East Holiday Show set new fundraising and attendance records for the event.
According to PCC Foundation Executive Director Susan Nobles, this year’s show, which was held at the Greenville Convention Center, drew 12,000 shoppers—500 more than last year’s record attendance. More importantly, she said, the show generated more than $109,000 for student scholarships and educational activities at PCC.
“Each year, we’re amazed by the community’s support for the Down East Holiday Show,” said Nobles, who is also PCC’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Our vendors were extremely pleased with the record-setting attendance, and I am positive that the revenue the show generated for scholarships will benefit our students for years to come.”
This year’s Holiday Show ran Nov. 1-3 and featured 145 vendors selling everything from holiday decorations, gifts, and food items to a variety of services. Santa Claus was also on hand to pose for photos with children.
Started in 2002, this year’s Holiday Show was the PCC Foundation’s twelfth.
Next year’s event has been scheduled for Nov. 7-9 and will once again take place at the Greenville Convention Center. Details and the latest updates on the 2014 show can be found at www.downeastholidayshow.com.
