Shareen Berkowitz Hired as SBC Counselor

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Division of Continuing Education and Community Development announced this month that Shareen Berkowitz has been hired as its Small Business Center counselor.
In her role with PCC, Berkowitz will provide counseling, resources and training to existing and prospective entrepreneurs with regard to starting businesses, developing business plans, marketing, and other aspects of small business ownership.
As a business owner herself, Berkowitz is a self-proclaimed “professional networker,” which complements and enhances her expertise in the areas of growing a business through connections, social media marketing and event planning, with a particular focus on building strong relationships.
Berkowitz’s professional background also includes several years of work in the corporate world, most recently with State Street Corp. in Boston, prior to moving to North Carolina in 2003.
Berkowitz is a graduate of the New England College of Business and Finance. She is also an N.C. Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (NC REAL)-certified facilitator.
Through NC REAL’s educational training programs and curriculum, Berkowitz can teach seminars at PCC and other community colleges to those interested in entrepreneurship.
