PCC Serving Record Spring Enrollment
WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College's curriculum enrollment is up more than 500 students this semester compared to the same point a year ago – and the record number for a spring semester at the college is expected to climb further, once all registration data becomes available.
On Thursday, Joanne Ceres, PCC director of enrollment management/registrar, said approximately 8,500 students were enrolled for spring courses. That’s roughly six percent more than the 8,015 students who signed up for the 2012 Spring Semester.
The number of full-time students taking courses this spring rose from 5,012 in 2012 to 5,241, Ceres said, adding that Weekend College enrollment jumped from 558 a year ago to 604.
When students from late-start classes and several other curriculum offerings this semester are factored into the final total, PCC’s already-record enrollment this spring should rise considerably. The previous enrollment record for a spring semester at PCC was 8,402 in 2011.
