PCC Police Arrest Two for Stealing Laptops
WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College police arrested two men last week and are seeking a third person in connection with laptop computers stolen from a campus classroom during the fall semester.
According to PCC Police Chief Alan Edwards, Philip P. Johnson, 28, and 17-year-old Malik J. Johnson were taken into custody and charged with breaking, entering and larceny as well as felony possession of stolen property. Both are former PCC continuing education students from Greenville and were placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under $20,000-bond, he said.
On Nov. 28, PCC police reported that several laptop computers worth $17,000 were taken from a physics classroom in the Robert Lee Humber Building. Edwards said a number of those laptops have been located in Florida, and he added that there is an outstanding warrant for the arrest of a third individual in connection with the case.
