“Pair of Legals” Sweeps PCC Drama Awards

WINTERVILLE—“Pair of Legals,” a comedy about a crazy lawyer interviewing interns, was the big winner last month, when Pitt Community College drama instructor Lee Armstrong handed out his annual PCC Drama Awards.
At the conclusion of the Fall 2012 Semester, students taking Armstrong’s Theater Appreciation course completed their final class projects by performing original plays they’d written and directed. The 50 audience members in attendance then determined the award winners.
In addition to “Pair of Legals,” last month’s performance in the William E. Fulford Building auditorium included a horror comedy ("German Hospitality"), domestic drama ("Knots Landing"), tragedy ("As You Wish"), and religious drama ("Salvation & the Angel's Wish").
It was a clean sweep for “Pair of Legals,” though, as the play netted awards for Best Director (Troy Puryear), Best Playwright (Christopher O’Neal), Best Actress (Jamie Gonzalez), and Best Actor, which went to Corey Moore for his performance as eccentric lawyer Charles Ward.
