While the 26-year-old Gutierrez was the top overall finisher, Winterville’s Elizabeth Turnage posted the fastest time among female competitors. The 35-year-old Turnage, who is a PCC instructor, crossed the line in 22 minutes and 32 seconds – good for eighth overall.
A total of 71 runners competed in the 5K race. Another 15 walkers participated in the one-mile fun run/walk as part of the event while five children took part in the Kids Dash.
PCC Alumni Relations Director Ashley Smith said this year’s Bulldog Run raised $5,170 for the PCC Foundation. She noted the fundraising total does not include in-kind donations, which are still being calculated.
