Nursing Students Earn Kiwanis Scholarships
GREENVILLE—Pitt Community College students Allison Paige Chappell, Caroline Killmon, Mark Loomis and Olivia Steward received the Pitt Golden K Kiwanis/Clifton E. Boyd Nursing Scholarship last month.
Killmon, Loomis and Steward are wrapping up the first year of the Associate Degree Nursing curriculum while Chappell has applied to the program and will begin this fall, if accepted.
Killmon, who is now a two-time recipient of the Kiwanis Nursing Scholarship, received $750 to help offset the cost of her tuition. Loomis, Steward and Chappell will receive $500 each through their awards.
Administered by the Greater Greenville Foundation, the Pitt Golden K Kiwanis/Clifton E. Boyd Nursing Scholarship is named for Col. Clifton Boyd, a former Kiwanis Club and PCC Foundation Board member. The scholarship is presented annually to outstanding PCC students seeking nursing degrees.
