What is SPAN?

SPAN is a 6-week program that is specially designed to assist students with becoming "Ready for College". "Ready for College" is a national campaign that focuses on creating opportunities that foster success for incoming college students. The goal for this program is for students to advance their entry levels in math and English, gain precursory college credit, and acclimate to the college environment; thereby, saving both time and money in college.

When is it?

2015 SPAN will take place June 22- July 31 at Pitt Community College.

Who is it for?

The program is designed for recently graduated high school and GED/ AHS students.

What will be taught?

The program consists of credit course: ACA 090 (Study Skills), a math enrichment class, an English enrichment class, a computer enrichment class, and transitions workshops for personal and academic development.  In addition, students will engage in career exploration with each of the applied associate programs will be highlighted each week.
