Women's History Celebration

As part of the college's celebration of women's history, the school recognizes a female employee with the "Woman of Substance Award."

"Celebrating Women of Character, Courage and Commitment"

March 5, 2014

12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Craig F. Goess Student Center Multipurpose Room

Every year since 2001, PCC has held a program to celebrate the achievements of women. The event is held each March in conjunction with the nation's observance of Women's History Month.

As part of the college's celebration of women's history, the school recognizes a female employee with the "Woman of Substance Award" for outstanding campus and community involvement, attitude of service, commitment and caring, and willingness to 'go the extra mile.' The national theme for the 2014 Women's History Month celebration is "Celebrating Women of Character, Courage & Commitment."

Our guests will be a distinguished panel of women who will share their stories of courage: Cassandra Deck-Brown, Chief of the Raleigh Police Department; Dr. Kelly Philpot, a Family Practice Physician with ECU Physicians and Clinical Assistant Professor with the ECU Brody School of Medicine; and Linda Taft, Revenue Officer with the Internal Revenue Service and PCC Alum.

Following the presentation, PCC will announce the winner of the 2014 Woman of Substance Award.
