Volleyball Opens 2011 with Win over VGCC

HENDERSON—Pitt Community College Volleyball started the 2011 season on the right note Aug. 30 with a 3-0 victory over Vance-Granville Community College.

Led by Megan Mansfield, Taylor Norris and Angele Landry, the Bulldogs topped the Vanguards 25-7, 25-16 and 25-3 to go 1-0 overall and in the Region X Conference.

Mansfield finished with seven kills and five aces while Norris tallied eight kills. Landry recorded 12 assists and two aces.
