'Canes Control Boards to Beat Pitt, 92-64

Tyrelle JacksonWINTERVILLE—Louisburg College jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in topping Pitt Community College Thursday, 92-64.

The Hurricanes, who led 55-30 at the half, outrebounded Pitt by a 54-33 margin to sweep the regular-season series with the Bulldogs, who fell to 1-12 overall this season.

Joe Thompson and Jeremy Atkinson scored 17 points each to pace Louisburg offensively.

Tyrelle Jackson led all scorers with 26 for Pitt. Teammates Chuckie Becton and Jon Setters scored 16 and 13, respectively.

PCC, now 1-9 in the Region X Conference, faces Patrick Henry Community College on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Charles Coburn Center.
