PCC Can't Crack Win Column Against Lenoir
WINTERVILLE-New year, new coach but same result for Pitt Community College Basketball Thursday as the Bulldogs fell to 0-8 on the season with an 80-55 loss to Lenoir Community College.
In his first game at the helm of the PCC basketball team, interim head coach Darrick Mullins saw his team fall behind early against the Lancers and ultimately trail 42-30 by halftime. LCC recorded 12 offensive rebounds in the first half to build the 12-point advantage.
Lenoir's dominance continued in the second half, as the Lancers put together a 10-2 run to lead 52-32 by the 18-minute mark.
C.J. Melvin led the LCC attack, finishing with a game-high 27 points. Mister Height tacked on 12 more for the Lancers, who swept the regular-season series with Pitt.
Darren Wilson turned in a solid performance for the Bulldogs. The freshman forward was seemingly unstoppable at times on his way to recording 23 points. Terrance Drakeford added 10 for PCC, which had just eight players return from fall semester to go along with three new additions.
