Attracting, hiring, and retaining an excellent and diverse faculty and staff is a top priority for colleges nationwide. PCC utilizes a search committee for the hiring process to help ensure consistent and equal employment in hiring decisions to hire the “best” candidate for the position. This training session is open to any faculty or staff member and will allow you to participate in the search committee process. During this session you will learn about your part in the process, legalities of the interview process, and about behavioral based interviewing.

Preventing Discrimination & Harassment (Online) 

Required for all current FT employees

Available October 1st – 31st  

Federal laws prohibit discrimination and harassment in the workplace on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, national origin, disability, pregnancy, and genetic information, and some state and local laws protect even more characteristics. Training employees to prevent workplace discrimination and harassment is essential.

 Some of the topics covered include: Types of sexual harassment, reasons for concern, retaliation, maintaining a respectful work environment, supervisor responsibilities, responding to complaints, etc.

There is a separate course for managers and non-managers.
