Cosmetology
The Cosmetology Program at Pitt Community College is one of the most distinguished and affordable programs in Eastern NC. PCC, in partnership with Mitchell's Hair Styling Academy, offers 1500 hours of training through classroom hours as well as supervised practical experience. Students can earn their required cosmetology hours and be eligible to sit for the North Carolina Cosmetic Arts Board licensing examination in just one year! Download a printable flyer.

Introduction to Cosmetology
Learn the qualifying classroom and clinical education necessary to sit for the NC Cosmetic Arts Board Licensing examination. Placement test is required prior to registration. 430 hours. Cost: $185.55 a semester; kit and uniform are an additional cost and required.
Cosmetology Clinical
Master the next level of qualifying classroom and clinical education necessary to sit for the NC Cosmetic Arts Board Licensing examination. Pre-requisite: 300 hours of accredited cosmetology training. Lab hours. Cost: $185.55 a semester; kit and uniform are an additional cost and required.

Registration
We are currently accepting new students! You can register at the PCC Greenville Center located at 3107 S. Memorial Drive in Greenvile, NC. Students must attend a mandatory orientation prior to the beginning of class.
Admission Requirements
Students must be high school graduates. All students must take the Math and English/reading placement tests, administered in the Warren Building, room 2402. Call 252-493-7561 for hours of operation. Transfer students should provide a copy of their skills and hours transcript from their former cosmetology program. This skills and hours transcript must be approved to receive credit for those hours and advance in the PCC program.
Costs
Costs associated with the program include tuition which is $185.55 per semester for 4 semesters, uniforms (black scrubs), books (approximately $214), and a cosmetology kit.
Cosmetology Kit
Students must be prepared to purchase a cosmetology kit on the first day of class. The kit can be purchased through Mitchell's Hair Styling Academy at the cost of $642. Students may purchase a cosmetology kit elsewhere but all the items must be comparable to the Mitchell's kit and must be approved by Mitchell's prior to the first day of class. Mitchell's accepts cash, money orders, and debit/credit cards.
Advising
Office hours for cosmetology advising are Monday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and Thursday 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Employment is available in beauty salons as hair stylists, skin/nail specialists, platform artists, and related businesses.
