Acquire the skills needed to begin a successful job search in today’s economy! Learn the ins and outs of the job application process from how to find job opportunities to filling out the application. Also included are tips on time management, the basics of customer service, and an introduction to the interview process. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.

Career Exploration

The curriculum framework is designed to assess the interests, attitudes, aptitudes, and readiness as it relates to career, employment, and/or educational goals. The content of the instructional materials must focus on the following topics: personal development, career exploration, goal setting and the development of a written plan of action. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.

Reintegrating Back into Society
Hours: 32

Learn how to overcome the barriers many offenders are facing today. Many offenders have difficulty finding permanent, unsubsidized, well-paid employment after release because they lack job-seeking experience, a work history, and occupational skills; furthermore, many employers refuse to hire individuals with criminal records. These circumstances seriously affect an ex-offender’s stability because unemployment is consistently associated with high recidivism rates. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.

Develop Successful Interviewing Skills
Hours: 12

A twelve hour clinic designed to enhance the participants’ interview skills by exploring values and work ethic. This clinic will help you to interview successfully, to be prepared to answer an employer’s questions, to answer questions you are likely to be asked and to prepare a list of questions you will want to have answered. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.

Money Management

Enhance your money skills! This course is designed to build financial knowledge provide an understanding of credit and banking services and develop financial confidence. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.


Setting Employment Foundations
Hours: 34

This course is designed to assess your interests, employment, and/or education goals. This training will also help you develop positive attitudes, better decision-making, and the ability to accept constructive criticism - all the tools needed for acceptable employment guidelines. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.


Employability Lab
Hours: Varies

This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults.  The curriculum framework must address each of the six core HRD components.  Instruction is designed to be self-directed, self-paced, and structured on an open-entry, open-exit basis to meet the customized needs of individuals and/or partner agencies at JobLink (One-Stop) Career Centers.  Membership hours are counted on a contact hour basis. Cost: FREE for those who qualify. 

Basic Computer Skills
Hours: 24

This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. The curriculum framework is designed to introduce computers and computer terms, develop a moderate comfort level of basic computer-use skills, introduce the Internet and develop email capabilities, and develop skills in navigating the Internet and using search engines. Cost: FREE for those who qualify.

This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. Effective Communication Skills

The curriculum is designed to build effective interpersonal communication skills. Effective communication skills are important both in business interactions as well as personal interactions. Yes, communication takes place all the time, but how effective is it when job searching and during the interview process? Cost: FREE for those who qualify.
